Date Time Topic(s) & Descriptions
Saturday 1/19 9am - 12:30pm Basic Program Design
This course will review and explain the fundamental principles that govern all training programs. Attendees will learn the importance of activity analysis, specific prescription, and appropriate administration of an annual plan. Principles such as load, intensity, and volume will be explored and attendees will actually design and present programs to fellow participants.

Speed Training 1:  Building Linear Speed

Speed Training 1: Building Linear Speed teaches coaches how to develop straight-line speed in their athletes based on biomechanical analysis and appropriate drill prescription. Coaches will learn the components of locomotion, how to improve each phase of a stride, and implement teaching progressions to develop linear speed.

Saturday 2/16 9am - 12:30pm Speed Training 2: Building Lateral Speed
Speed Training 2: Building Lateral Speed teaches coaches how to develop lateral speed in their athletes based on biomechanical analysis and appropriate drill prescription. Coaches will learn the components of lateral movement, how to improve mechanics, and implement teaching progressions and drills to develop lateral speed.

Movement-Based Medicine Ball Training

Movement-Based Medicine Ball Training uncovers the value of total body conditioning both with solo and partner medicine ball exercises. Coaches will learn how to use typical medicine balls and train with the Dynamax medicine ball for the ultimate in coordination and conditioning. This course is a favorite of many coaches!

Saturday 3/22 9am - 12:30pm Basic Exercise Physiology
Basic Exercise Physiology reviews the most critical, fundamental knowledge a coach should possess when developing appropriate training programs for their teams. Coaches shall learn how muscle contraction occurs, what influences muscle adaptation, and the difference between slow and fast twitch fibers. Finally, the physiologic requirements for various sports will be reviewed.

Jumping For Success: Plyometric Training

Jumping For Success: Plyometric Training uncovers the hidden value of this training method for peak performance and speed enhancement. The physiologic components of plyometrics are discovered and explained, as well as methods on how to incorporate them into specific sport applications. Coaches who complete this course will be able to safely prescribe a plyometric program that will enhance the speed and power of their athletes.

Saturday 4/12 9am - 12:30pm Strength Training:  Understanding Core Lifts
Strength Training: Understanding Core lifts will teach coaches how to safely instruct their athletes in the squat, deadlift, and press movements in the weightroom. This course reviews the biomechanics of each movement, how to appropriately plan them into an annual training regimen, and how to avoid serious injury. Participants will use hands-on methods and coach each other through exercises to help learn these vital concepts.

Saturday 5/17 9am - 12:30pm Cardiovascular System Training
Training The Cardiovascular System explains the important role of the coach when developing training programs for their athletes, with respect to cardiovascular fitness. The components and function of the CV system are explained along with acute and chronic adaptations to physical activity. Finally, coaches have an opportunity to develop cardiovascular training programs in case scenarios and share their solutions with other attendees.

Combination Method Conditioning

Conditioning Through Combination Training provides coaches with a powerful tool to develop enhanced coordination, work capacity, and overall agility. The course explains how to mix various training methods including ladders, plyometrics, medicine balls, and cones drills to facility rapid skill improvement. Plus it’s a lot of fun! Coaches who complete this course will leave with a set of powerful training tools to use in their specific program.
